Full version of Microsoft Office is about to hit the Windows Store

The full desktop version of Microsoft Office will soon be available in the Windows store, with Microsoft planning to introduce it in June.
We had already heard a number of rumors in this regard, and at the big Microsoft launch event this week - where Windows 10 S and the Surface Laptop were revealed - Terry Myerson, executive vice president of Windows and Devices Group, Office was about to Get to the windows store.
However, according to VentureBeat, Microsoft later confirmed that the launch was due in June. That is not cast iron, but given that it is next month, we can certainly expect the suite to land very soon, even if it slides.
Keep in mind that Office applications are already available in the Windows store, but these are small, touch-centric applications rather than full versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Of course, with the release of Windows 10 S, Microsoft really has to make sure that full Office applications are available in the Windows store, because the new light version of Windows is blocked from software downloaded from the store for security reasons .
(You can use Office applications offline, of course, an important point for laptops rivaling the Chromebook running Windows 10 S).
Trial versions of Win32 desktop applications were available more than a year ago, so it took some time to get here. As noted at the time, the idea is also to make the installation as simple as possible, allowing users to configure the suite with a minimum of fuss. What is never a bad thing.
In other recent Office news, we saw that Microsoft is slowly turning Office 2016 users into Office 365 subscribers, cutting off access to OneDrive and Skype's business flavors by the end of the decade for the group previous.
